Their (the arts) aesthetics
civilize us ...
    -- Robert Fitt

I wanted to draw caricatures for as long as I remember; but it took a long time before I got the hang of it. They’re fun to do. If you happened to sit near me while I’m trying to stay awake in Church I may have drawn one of you.  But most of my caricatures aren’t shown here—because I gave them away to whoever had the misfortune to sit next to me.

CARICATURES
CARTOONS

I sometimes draw original cartoons, but more often I see a political cartoon that I like, and write different captions about people in  the Church that are just as funny and revealing as the original message. Human nature expresses itself in humorous ways among Church leaders, and in the daily life of members and.  A lot of the captions grew out of experiences I had in the welfare program with individual members when I served as bishop; and I used them to teach welfare principles in a humorous way.  Please understand that there is no intent to poke fun at any person or group of people.

I hope the ‘real’ cartoonists don’t mind my using their work the way I sometimes do. It’s just for fun, after all; and I’m not making any money from what I do.  Then, too, I’m always careful to leave the artists name and syndication on the frame so that they get the credit for the art work.
